HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FRANZ!!
Craig Sheppard performs the first two books of Liszt’s monumental Années de Pèlerinage in Seattle’s Meany Theater on Friday evening, October 21st. These pieces were the direct result of Liszt’s eleven-year affair with Marie, La Comtesse d’Agoult, and their need to abscond from Paris in the wake of tremendous scandal.

Caricature of Franz Liszt reproduced with kind permission from Lebrecht Music and Arts, London.
